A. Expressions of asking and giving hope

hope is want something to happen or be true and usually have a good reason to think that is might. Expressions of hope:

B.   Expressions of congratulation

Congratulation is something that you say when to congaratulate someone.

Plural is a word or part of a word which shows that you are talking about more than one person or thing. While, singular is a form of a word used to talk about one person or thing.

UNIT 3 THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT

A.   Text procedure

The social function  of text procedure is to describe how to do something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps. The generic structure is:

1.      Goal (about materials and ingredients)

2.      Method (step)

Ex:

                                           Epe Banana

Ingredients:

1.      1 bunch of “kepok” bananas (not to ripe)

2.      I liter of water

3.      I kg brown sugar

4.      50 gr white sugar

5.      10 cc vanilla essence

Preparation:

1.      Peel the banana, then roast them over charcoal until somewhat soft and  brown.

2.      Flatten them with a special wooden clamp or, if you don’t own one, use a large flat wood spoon to flatten the bananas on a cutting board.

3.      Sauce: boil the water with brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla essence untul it dissolve into thick syrup, then pour over the bananas.
